Well, you may already know that there’s a fan control daemon which reads the temperature sensors in an Apple Macbook (or Macbook Pro) computer and throttles the fans accordingly to keep the temperature within configurable limits.

Now, a mistake on my part is that I downloaded an extra driver, as it was on the list of drivers for my product, but I didn't notice that it had a different motherboard ID. Running Ubuntu on Apple MacBook / MacBook Pro computers.

Again, this doesn't seem too likely since you have partial control, but there are not a lot of threads to pull at right now. Loss of fan control is one of several possibilities. They always ran quiet before, even while gaming it rarely got this loud. Also, beware of running other full spectrum monitoring programs at the same time that poll Corsair devices (like HWiNFO or AIDA). When I restarted, the fans now run at full speed, even at idle when temps are cool. I read that a few people had this problem and that downloading the BIOS driver update would fix it, so that's what I tried to do.

So it would be obvious to this old tech, that your Windows 10 is running the CPU more than your previous OS. It's been running fine, fan and all, except occaisionally it would give BIOS error beeps (3 long, 3 short). The speed of the CPU fan is controlled not by Windows but by the controller on the motherboard and is based on the temperature of the CPU. I've had this computer for 3 months with no modifications, except mounting an additional fan on the 120mm bracket up top, plugged into the LC_PUMP on the motherboard. I have the same problem, but caused after a BIOS driver update.
